The expected performance of the CNGS facility in terms of protons on target and production of neutrinos is described in the CNGS technical reports. A summary of results, updated in November 2000, is given here. 

- first muon detector: £ 2.5 x 10⁷ muons per cm² per 10¹³ protons on target

- second muon detector:  £ 4 x 10⁵ muons per cm² per 10¹³ protons on target
