Horn inner conductors arrived at CERN

(collaboration between IN2P3 and CERN)

On 31st March 2003, the two inner conductors for the CNGS horns (one for the horn to be installed, one for the spare horn) were delivered to CERN.

Two pictures showing one of the inner conductors on the measurement test bench of the EST-SU group at CERN (photos courtesy S. Rangod, CERN-EP). Apart from both ends, the 6.65 metre long inner conductor is supported in three places - these are the locations where it will be supported, in the final configuration inside the horn, with sets of three stretched wires in each place
